Like UniBank members, we are passionate about the future and supporting new ways of thinking that help improve our community and the world.
In fact, our Constitution drives us to ‘promote, encourage and bring about human and social development among individual members and within the larger community within which members work or reside.'
For over 50 years, we’ve helped and watched the higher education community create change for good.
And, as a member-owned bank founded in a University chemistry lab, supporting these people with profits is central to the way we operate.
So, while big banks invest 0.3-0.6% of profits after tax in community, we give 6.8% back to the Bank's members and advancing the higher education community.
These returned profits fund numerous sponsorships and awards that benefit university staff and students, such as:
Australian Catholic University
Raising awareness of the continued importance of business ethics responsibility, Australian Catholic University and Teachers Mutual Bank Limited have joined forces in an ethics and value-driven partnership.
The partnership involves a three-year collaboration program across Teachers Mutual Bank Limited brands of UniBank, Health Professionals Bank, Teachers Mutual Bank, and Hiver, including a number of specific scholarships for students.
Association of Tertiary Education Management (ATEM)
Our partnership began with ATEM in 2017 as they are the professional body in Australasia for tertiary education administrators and managers. This partnership provides UniBank with access to a number of professional staff across the university sector and opportunities for collaboration and support. UniBank have sponsored the ATEM Marketing, Communications and Public Relations Award for the last five years and a number of other conferences including the Universities Australia annual conference and the 2022 Women in Leadership Symposium.
Universities Australia Higher Education Conference
Our sponsorship of this major conference is testament to our commitment to supporting university staff members across Australia. The conference brings together senior university staff - such as vice-chancellors and chancellors, as well as senior government representatives, international specialists and the research community. It’s a forum where both the challenges and opportunities facing the sector are discussed.
Tertiary Education Management Conference
As the Welcome Sponsor of the Tertiary Education Management Conference we are proud to support non-academic staff. This unique conference is the largest one in the Australian tertiary education sector which covers the administrative, management and facilities functions at universities.
